Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Principal Project Manager to lead complex initiatives across the development lifecycle, from concept and design through post-approval activities. This role will support Device Development - Business Operations & Compliance Support in a highly matrixed and cross-functional environment.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Execution
- Translate device strategy into actionable, inspection-ready Design & Development Plans
- Manage end-to-end projects across development pipelines, line extensions, and technology initiatives
- Drive team performance, decision-making, issue resolution, and cross-functional collaboration
- Lead governance processes, stage-gates, and committee reviews
Compliance & Quality Management
- Implement, maintain, and continuously improve Quality Management Systems (QMS)
- Manage DHF and controlled documentation repositories for compliance and completeness
- Lead audit readiness for internal audits and health authority inspections
- Oversee CAPA and remediation activities
Operations & Continuous Improvement
- Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Improve business processes, PM tools, and operating models
- Forecast resources, monitor budgets, and track project costs
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technical Discipline, or related field
- 12 years in Pharmaceutical or Medical Device industry
- 5–6 years in Devices or Combination Products
- Strong experience in drug/device development and commercialization
- Deep knowledge of EU MDR, FDA 21 CFR Parts 210, 211, 820, and ISO 13485
- Strong project management expertise, PMP preferred
- Executive presence with ability to work independently
Additional Details
- Onsite role in South San Francisco
- Minimal travel, 1–2 times annually
- Ability to support global hours, including 7 AM - 10 AM Pacific when needed
- Interview Process: 2 Rounds (Virtual Onsite Panel)
Salary : $65 - $95
