About the Role
We are seeking a Facilities Technician II to support mission-critical operations in a regulated life sciences environment. This role is hands-on, execution-focused, and requires deep technical competence across mechanical, electrical, building automation, and environmental monitoring systems. The technician will be responsible for maintaining uptime, ensuring compliance, and responding decisively to facility issues.
This is not a junior role. Candidates must bring strong field experience, sound judgment, and the ability to operate independently in a GMP setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC-R systems, boilers, pumps, CTUs, RO/DI water systems, autoclaves, and utility distribution.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems from 12V to 480V, including motors, VFDs, UPS, generators, ATS, and panels.
- Operate and troubleshoot Building Automation Systems (ALC, Siemens, JCI, Distech).
- Monitor and respond to Environmental Monitoring Systems (Rees), including alarms, excursions, and documentation.
- Execute inspections, PMs, testing, and emergency response activities.
- Manage work orders and documentation using SAP Plant Maintenance.
- Ensure strict compliance with Cal/OSHA, NEC, GMP, and site safety procedures.
- Collaborate with engineering, lab, EHS, and external vendors.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must meet one of the following:
- AA Technical Degree (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Technology, or related)
- plus 10 years hands-on electrical and mechanical maintenance experience
- plus experience with building control systems
OR
- Licensed/Certified Electrician (state or nationally recognized)
- plus 10 years electrical and mechanical maintenance experience
- plus 3 years experience with BAS/building management systems
Salary : $35 - $50
