What are the responsibilities and job description for the EHS Specialist – Industrial Hygiene position at Pharmaceutical Company?
We are hiring an experienced EHS / Industrial Hygiene Specialist to support biomanufacturing technology transfer projects with a leading biotech organization.
In this role, you will act as the primary safety point of contact, ensuring Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) requirements are embedded into new and existing processes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify risks, implement controls, and maintain compliance within a regulated manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, assess, and mitigate safety, health, and environmental risks in manufacturing processes
- Conduct hazard assessments, risk screenings, and gap analyses during technology transfer
- Design and implement engineering and administrative controls to reduce risk exposure
- Review chemical, equipment, and process documentation to ensure safe handling practices
- Lead Management of Change (MOC), CAPA tracking, and safety documentation
- Support compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards
- Deliver safety training and promote a strong safety culture across teams
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Engineering, Life Sciences, or related field
- Strong experience in Industrial Hygiene / EHS within manufacturing or biotech/pharma
- Hands-on experience with risk assessments, exposure monitoring, and safety controls
- Knowledge of OSHA, NIOSH, ACGIH, and safety regulations
- Ability to work independently and influence cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in biotech/pharma manufacturing or technology transfer
- Familiarity with GMP environments, MOC, and PSSR processes
