We are seeking an Associate Contracts Manager to join a leading biotechnology organization supporting its Research Contracts team. This role focuses on managing the full lifecycle of Material Transfer Agreements (MTAs) while partnering with scientists, legal teams, technology transfer offices, and internal stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have experience in contract administration within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences, CRO, or university research environment, along with excellent organizational and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Manage the complete lifecycle of outgoing Material Transfer Agreements (MTAs)
- Coordinate with scientists, legal teams, technology transfer offices, and research partners
- Track and manage a high-volume MTA queue while meeting deadlines
- Maintain accurate contract records and databases
- Coordinate agreement execution, signatures, and post-execution activities
- Support shipment coordination, import/export documentation, and material transfers
- Prepare reports, update databases, and maintain legal records
- Prioritize multiple projects and high-volume email communication
- Coordinate meetings and communicate project status with internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or related scientific discipline
- 2–4 years of experience in contract administration, research contracts, clinical operations, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, CRO, or university research
- Experience managing Material Transfer Agreements (MTA) or similar research agreements preferred
- Knowledge of scientific terminology (DNA, plasmids, antibodies, genetically modified animal models, etc.)
- Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
- Experience with contract databases, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities
