What are the responsibilities and job description for the Instrumentation & Electrical Technician position at PGM Tek?
Open to candidates with a 2-year technical degree in an Instrument or Electrical discipline with 5-10 years of experience in an industrial petrochemical manufacturing facility who are open to grow in their career. Details below.
Hands-on experience in:
· Working with high voltage up to 13.8 kv. Troubleshooting motor controls and motor starters up to 4.1 kv is a plus
· Using calibration software and computer aided calibrators to perform instrument calibrations
· Reading electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and ladder or function block logic for troubleshooting and
system understanding
· Performing checkout and maintenance of systems in plants, and creating
procedures for them
· Working in a team environment to define, procure, implement, commission, and maintain equipment and systems
Desirable behavioral skills:
· Hands-on with a do-it-yourself (DIY) attitude
· Curious mindset with strong desire to learn and to improve own skills, acquaint with new equipment, repair and
troubleshooting techniques
· Desire to learn programing of control systems
· Desire to develop scope for automation projects, prepare design package, procurement information project cost estimates, and implement
project execution plans, facilitate cross-team communication
· Keeping abreast of technology that can improve automation
· Hands-on experience in the following is a plus:
· Install and troubleshoot fiber optic networks
· Participate in factory acceptance testing (FAT) and functional testing of new installations to verify proper operation
· Execution
of small capital projects, develop scope for electrical and instrumentation
projects, preparing electrical and mechanical design and procurement
information, troubleshooting, developing recommendations, preparing project cost estimates, and developing and implementing project
execution plans
· Pressure, Temperature, Level Instruments
· Gas analyzers or detectors
