PFX Cincinnati is looking for a Chemical Operations Supervisor to join our team! We are looking for a self-motivated, professional, and organized individual who enjoys detailed work and a fast-paced environment.

The Chemical Operations Supervisor will lead the day-to-day work activities in the Blending and Bulk loading/Unloading areas and is a subject matter expert with demonstrated mastery of successfully creating chemical blends (Blending) in accordance with customer specification and completing the duties required for Bulk tank truck and railcar loading/unloading in accordance with internal policies and procedures. This position has responsibility for executing training and onboarding plans for new Chemical Operators, maintains time and attendance for team members, evaluates team performance in conjunction with the Operations Manager and Plant Manager.  This role will lead our flush management and reuse initiatives with support from site leadership and our technical team in the lab.  This position will be involved in continuous improvement project planning and implementation.  Assists in other areas of the plant as needed.

 

In this position, you will be responsible for:

  • Assigning daily priorities within the team to achieve goals driven by customer demand and site/organizational needs.
  • Supporting the chemical operations team in maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment to deliver high quality products.
  • Conducting performance reviews, coach and train team members on best practices.
  • Ensuring the team adheres to company policies and procedures.
  • Assisting the team in problem solving with batch blending, ABU processes, and bulk load/unloading functions.
  • Maintaining accountability within the team to ensure standard operating procedures are followed.
  • Flush management and reuse in coordination with site leadership; this includes coordination of an organized facility inside and outside regarding flush tote storage, sample collection for lab testing, maintain accurate labeling, data cataloging, organize pickups for 3rd party recycling/waste, and provide analysis on progress.
  • Railcar and Bulk Truck loading/unloading coordination
  • Promoting an environment of teamwork to foster a culture of shared success.
  • Maintaining an objective skills matrix for the team in conjunction with department manager, to identify training opportunities.
  • Supporting in the development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives within the department and facility including: Tank Farm Utilization Optimization, Raw Material Usage Accuracy, and Blend First Pass improvement
  • Maintaining time and attendance records and performance evaluations for the team in conjunction with department management.
  • Coordinating with inventory management team and procurement when raw material complications arise.
  • Communicating with site leadership when changes to blending, bulk, or production plans are expected.
  • Maintaining power equipment certification and be capable of training new/existing team members.
  • Creating standard work documents and implement them in operations.
  • Implementing Lean Manufacturing tools and train operators on their use (e.g., AM, 5S, Visual Controls)
  • Other duties may be assigned.

  • Planning/Organization – This role will include some data analysis to maintain an inventory with the flush management responsibilities.
  • Strong influential skills and ability to motivate others to help lead change

 

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, can substitute with experience.
  • Previous experience in Chemical Blending/production is required.
  • Three to five years of experience in TPM environment
  • Experience working in a team environment a plus.
  • Capability to communicate effectively with various skill levels and personality types to successfully accomplish your expectations.
