Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklift equipment such as reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, and pallet jacks to load and unload shipments.
- Perform order picking with precision using various equipment including
pickers and order picker machines. - Manage warehouse inventory by accurately stacking, organizing, and relocating materials throughout the facility.
- Assist with shipping and receiving tasks by verifying inbound and outbound shipments against documentation.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and minor repairs to ensure machinery remains in optimal working condition.
- Support warehouse distribution activities by coordinating with warehouse supervisors to optimize space utilization and workflow.
- Follow OSHA safety guidelines diligently to maintain a safe working environment for all team members.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts (reach truck, clamp truck, Hi-Lo) and pallet jacks within a warehouse setting.
- Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory control and order processing.
- Mechanical knowledge for basic equipment repair and troubleshooting issues promptly.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting, loading & unloading shipments, and performing materials handling duties safely.
- Basic math skills for counting inventory items accurately and managing shipment documentation.
- Prior experience in shipping & receiving or warehouse distribution is highly desirable.
