Our small, women-owned general civil litigation firm is seeking an Associate Attorney. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience, exposure to a diverse caseload, and develop strong advocacy skills. The ideal candidate will strive to build strong client relationships alongside experienced attorneys who value collaboration and work-life balance.
Responsibilities
- Draft and file high-quality pleadings, including complaints, motions, discovery requests, settlement agreements, and pretrial memoranda.
- Conduct legal research on a variety of issues, prepare memoranda, and analyze case strategy.
- Prepare for and represent clients in hearings and mediations throughout Eastern Massachusetts.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex cases and provide support during trials.
- Participate in client intake and consultations.
- Provide compassionate, timely communication and support to clients.
- Manage cases from inception through resolution while meeting all relevant timelines.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in Massachusetts, in good standing with the Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers
- Legal work experience preferred
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- A practical, creative approach to client advocacy
- Professionalism and ability to build client rapport
- Experience in preparing and drafting legal pleadings
- Strong interest in representing clients in court
