Responsibilities
- Supply departments with accurate and timely carrier freight rates
- Negotiate freight rates with carriers and evaluate competitive pricing
- Set up and maintain freight rate tables across multiple locations
- Maintain and update fuel surcharge tables
- Research, evaluate, and vet new carriers
- Set up new and existing carriers at multiple locations
- Obtain, update, organize, and electronically file carrier agreements and related documentation
- Audit carrier information, loading numbers, and related terminal activity for accuracy
- Perform daily insurance audits to ensure carriers maintain current coverage with no lapses
- Resolve loading, allocation, and carrier-related issues
- Troubleshoot problems that may affect freight operations and the overall supply chain
- Provide administrative support to Supply, Sales, Logistics, and other internal departments
- Communicate effectively with carriers and internal team members to resolve issues and maintain efficient operations
- Perform other freight and administrative duties as needed
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to multitask, prioritize assignments, and manage competing deadlines
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills with the ability to think outside the box
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong analytical and organizational abilities
- Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
- Ability to work overtime when needed
