Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Resident Services Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional support to residents in our communities, including seniors, disabled and families. In this vital role, you will assist residents to secure resources needed to remain in a healthy, independent living environment. Responsibilities
- Work under the oversight and direction of the Resident Services Department Coordinator (RSDC).
- Implement supportive service programming in collaboration with the RSDC, management and the local community service providers.
- Provide ongoing outreach services to identify individuals who would benefit from available services.
- Facilitate the delivery of services with local service providers.
- Maintain accurate records on residents and resident service activities.
- Assist with the creation of the monthly newsletters.
- Oversee and/or facilitate crisis intervention, case management, and follow-up services to referrals from management, residents or other agencies.
- Collaborate with the RSDC in the planning and execution of social, recreational and educational events for residents.
- Attend all required meetings and prepare and participate in additional and/or special projects as required from time to time by Petra Community Housing
Skills and Requirements
- Experience in the Social Services, housing or non-profit fields
- Familiarity and knowledge of local service provider organizations.
- Detail oriented for documenting purposes
- Ability to work in a complex and nontraditional human service setting with a diverse population.
- A combination of education and experience that results in knowledge of the human service system. A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related specialty is preferred.
- Experience working with a diverse population including children, the disabled and the elderly.
- Valid driver's license for transportation needs when required
