The Supply Chain Analyst will play a key role in driving operational excellence across Petoskey Plastics’ supply chain. This role is responsible for developing and executing data-driven planning strategies to support demand planning and inventory optimization that aligns with production planning to drive key metrics around OTIF and OTD. The analyst will manage relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) providers and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure alignment with company goals. Success in this role requires strong analytical thinking, self-initiative and a continuous improvement mindset to enhance supply chain performance and support business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, analyze, and interpret supply chain data related to inventory levels, supplier performance, lead times, transportation, and production scheduling
- Monitor key supply chain metrics (OTIF, service levels, inventory turns, cost-to-serve) and prepare dashboards and reports for leadership
- Conduct root cause analysis on supply chain disruptions and propose corrective actions
- Support capacity planning by analyzing production, labor, and equipment constraints to align resources with customer demand
- Support demand planning and forecasting by partnering with sales and operations teams
- Optimize inventory stocking policies to balance customer service with cost efficiency
- Manage and monitor performance of third-party logistics (3PL) providers, ensuring service levels and cost targets are met
- Evaluate logistics and distribution performance, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs
- Collaborate with procurement on supplier performance analysis and cost reduction initiatives
- Assist with system improvements and ERP/SIO scenario analysis for 'what-if' planning
- Participate in cross-functional projects to enhance process automation and data accuracy
- Performs other duties as required by management
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business or related field
- CSCP or CPSM certification, preferred
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, operations, or data analysis (manufacturing environment preferred)
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, modeling) and ERP systems (Epicor or similar preferred)
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with 3PL management and capacity planning is strongly preferred
- Experience with supply chain optimization tools, data visualization (Power BI, Tableau), or SIO platforms is a plus
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or Six Sigma methodologies a plus
