What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant position at Peterson Technology Partners?

Our client is looking for a Staff Accountant to join their team.


Responsibilities:

  • Support accounts receivable activities, including invoicing and payment tracking applying cash receipts to customer accounts and updating accounting records.
  • Monitor and reduce aged receivables to improve cash conversion cycle through collections call, statement reconciliations, mailings as needed
  • Lead collections of past-due accounts, including maintaining proactive customer communication
  • Prepare and send account statements to customers on a regular basis.
  • Process and manage accounts payable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timely payment.
  • Develop and implement efficient receivable procedures and internal controls in partnership with the Assistant Controller.
  • Perform and review month-end close activities including journal entries, accruals, prepaids and balance sheet reconciliations: AP, AR, bank accounts, credit card statements
  • Maintain fixed assets, depreciation schedules
  • ERP experience Microsoft Dynamics 365 strongly preferred
  • Process and review accounts payable transactions in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, ensuring proper coding, approvals, and timely payment of vendors.
  • Process customer invoices, cash receipts, and other accounts receivable transactions in· Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and assist with collections as needed.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, including accruals, prepaids, fixed assets J/E's and prepare balance sheet reconciliations: AP, AR, bank accounts, credit card statements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting·
  • 1-3 years accounting experience
  • ERP experience Microsoft Dynamics 365 strongly preferred


Salary/Rate: $25-$30/HR (depends on experience level). This is a contract to hire position with candidates expected to work 40 hours/ week.
