What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sanitor - 3rd shift position at Peterson Farms Inc?
Cleans and sanitizes machinery, utensils and equipment used to process or store food or beverages.
Responsibilities •Daily cleaning and sanitizing of food processing equipment utilizing methods such as (Clean in Place – Clean out of Place) and foaming techniques. •Turn valves to drain machines or tanks and disconnect pipes. •Spray machines, tanks and conveyors with water to loosen and remove dirt or other foreign matter. •Scrub machines, tanks, tables, pans, flumes, tunnels and conveyors and then rinse with water prior to applying sanitizer. •Scrub floors and walls as part of the Master cleaning program. •Connect hoses and lines to pumps to circulate cleaning and sanitizing solution through hoses and lines. •Scrub interior of disconnected pipes, valves, spigots, gauges and meters. •Mix cleaning solutions and diluted acids. •Collect samples of cleaning solutions for titration analysis. •Report any defective machinery found to immediate supervisor.
Education •High school graduate or equivalent preferred
Work Experience •One year manufacturing/sanitation experience desirable
Skills and Knowledge •Ability to read, interpret and follow written job instructions. •Ability to follow and comply with quality standards. •Ability to comprehend and comply with GMP rules and Food Safety guidelines. •May be required to obtain and maintain valid hi-lo license. •Ability to work as contributing member within the team. •Ability to frequently lift/move material weighing up to 25 pounds. •Ability to operate a PC (keyboard/mouse).
Environmental Working Conditions: • Hazards include but are not limited to cuts from broken glass, slips, trips, falls, cuts, burns and strains. • Will be exposed to extreme cold, 38 degrees or below. • Depending on season may be exposed to variable temperatures including extreme hot and cold. • Noise level may be moderate to high during busy times.
