Position Summary:

The Real Estate Accountant is responsible for accounting functions related to commercial real estate properties and corporate entities. As a team member of Pete’s Fresh Market it is important that Pete’s Four Pillars of Value, Aesthetic, Quality, and Customer Service are always exemplified 

Essential Functions and Duties:

• Prepare financial statements and reports for multiple real estate properties
• Analyze property income and expenses and provide accurate accounting for rental and leasing operations.
• Manage accounts payable, including processing invoices and issuing payments to vendors
• Creating and setting up accounts for new tenants
• Charge rent and send out monthly statements to tenants
• Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts
• Complete yearly CAM reconciliations
• Collaborate with property managers, attorneys, and other stakeholders on financial matters.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• All positions must be performed in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management or leadership.

Education, Certifications, and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in accounting) and a minimum of 2 years of equivalent work experience
• Excellent oral/written communication skills
• Experience in real estate property accounting is preferred
• Demonstrated ability to maintain integrity, honesty and professionalism

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and various accounting software
• Strict attention to detail with ability to prioritize issues appropriately
• Strong accounting and financial analysis skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Has a “can do” productive self-motivated attitude, demonstrates initiative and suggests improved processes 

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Physical demands include, but are not limited to:

• While largely sedentary, this position requires the ability to sit, stand, and lift up to 20 lbs.
• Requires the ability to use a computer and office equipment traditionally found in office settings

Starting hourly rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and will vary based on things like location, experience and qualifications. All positions are eligible for Overtime, and some positions will have guaranteed Overtime available.

Salary range is 75k-100k
