Brief Description
DIRECTOR/SENIOR DIRECTOR, STRATEGIC ACCOUNT DEVELOPMENT
REPORTS TO: PRESIDENT
The Director/Senior Director, Strategic Account Development is responsible for creating strategic business partnerships and driving new revenue sources for the organization through increased sales and customer acquisition. This individual will lead the development and execution of our strategy primarily outside of our anchor accounts through our MOMENTUM and PROPEL agencies to drive growth through acquiring and sustaining new and emerging accounts. Close collaboration with Petauri business development personnel and Petauri-wide business development efforts will be required.
In addition, this role will collaborate on the development of innovative approaches, ideas, and customer tactics along with responses to RFI, RFP, and business development pitches.
Reporting to the President, they will also partner and collaborate closely with the VP Account Management to build a stronger strategic team able to grow the business over time. They must have extensive experience delivering services and products in the medical communications space to demonstrate value to potential clients. Deep understanding of our services and market demands in medical communications are critical to success in this role.

Travel to relevant industry events, client sites, or client programming will occur. Anticipate up to 50% travel.

Essential Functions
- Plan, develop, and implement strategies for generating new revenue from new logos for Petauri Advance
- Identify and bring forward new contacts and business opportunities by leveraging relationships and industry knowledge; establish cadence and strategy to establish new anchor accounts
- A leader in idea generation and brainstorming for developing innovative solutions to meet customer needs
- Identifies product improvements or new products and services by proactively monitoring industry trends, market activities, and competitors
- Leads the strategy for the response to new logo RFPs and proposals and partners with leadership team members to drive completion
- Manages relationships with internal and external clients to optimize customer experience and support business development for new and emerging account opportunities
- Collaborate with and follow up on business leads provided by other Petauri team members Engage senior decision makers, customer influencers, physician opinion leaders and partners to advance sales opportunities and develop leading solutions in the HCP P2P space
- Maintain periodic contact with clients (new, emerging, agile) to optimize understanding of business requirements and priorities from the client’s perspective and translate those to action
- Contributes ideas and solutions across the organization; understands and proactively anticipates the implications of changes with clients’ products and market environment
- Works with the VP, Account Management to transition accounts from new/emerging to “anchor” status once revenue and tenure goals are met
- Identifies needs, writes, and develops new assets for business development and innovation
- Other duties as assigned
