Job Summary:
Store Team Members at Pet Supplies Plus are friendly, outgoing, and passionate about pets. They provide exceptional customer service, assist with merchandising and stocking, and help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming store environment. Team Members are cross-trained in multiple areas including cashiering, stocking, and pet care.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations on pet products and services.
- Handle customer transactions at the register accurately and efficiently.
Store Operations
- Stock shelves and ensure product displays are neat and organized.
- Assist in receiving and processing shipments.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store, including sweeping, mopping, and cleaning up pet messes.
Pet Care
- Care for live animals in the store (fish, birds, reptiles, small animals).
- Monitor animal health and report any concerns to management.
- Educate customers on proper pet care and product usage.
Team Collaboration
- Work cooperatively with team members and management.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
- Support store promotions and events.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous retail or customer service experience is a plus.
- Passion for animals and willingness to learn about pet care.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
