Responsibilities

• Perform grooming services including bathing, trimming, brushing, nail clipping, ear cleaning, and styling tailored to each dog’s breed and individual needs
• Handle dogs safely using proper animal restraint techniques to ensure comfort and security during grooming procedures
• Assess each pet’s coat condition, skin health, and overall demeanor to determine appropriate grooming methods
• Maintain a clean and organized grooming station, ensuring all tools are sanitized and equipment is in excellent condition
• Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand their preferences and provide advice on pet care and grooming maintenance
• Support team members with kennel duties or scheduling appointments to promote overall animal well-being

Qualifications

• Proven experience in pet grooming, certifications in grooming training, with a strong understanding of different coat types and grooming techniques
• Knowledge of dog training principles and dog handling skills to ensure safe interactions
• Background in veterinary technician or veterinary assistant roles is highly desirable for understanding animal health needs
• Experience with animal restraint, pet care, and animal handling to ensure safe grooming sessions
• Ability to lift heavy objects such as tubs or supplies regularly throughout the day
• Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members
• Prior kennel experience or pet sitting background is a plus for versatile animal care support

Pay: $12.50 - $15.50 per hour
