Duties
- Provide attentive care to dogs in kennel and daycare settings, ensuring their safety, comfort, and happiness throughout their stay
- Assist with pet feeding, medication administration, and daily health monitoring to promote overall well-being
- Handle dog training exercises and reinforce good behavior using positive reinforcement techniques
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and grooming stations through thorough sanitization and organization
- Monitor animal behavior to identify signs of stress or illness, reporting concerns promptly to veterinary staff or management
- Engage in outdoor activities with dogs, including walks and playtime, ensuring proper animal restraint and handling at all times
- Support pet boarding operations by assisting with check-in/check-out procedures and providing exceptional customer service to pet owners
Qualifications
- Prior veterinary experience or veterinary technician experience is highly desirable
- Experience in pet sitting, dog training, or animal handling enhances your ability to succeed in this role
- Strong knowledge of animal behavior, restraint techniques, and kennel sanitation practices is preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and team lifting safely when handling large or multiple animals
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety
- Passion for animal care combined with a proactive attitude toward pet health and happiness
