What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cat Care Technician position at Pet Rescue?
Non-profit rescue seeks PART-TIME qualified CAT CARE TECHNICIAN to help with a variety of tasks.
RESPONSIBILITES:
- Feeding, dosing medicine, and care for special needs cats.
- Cleaning litter boxes and litter areas.
- Maintaining cat rooms in a clean and organized manner by washing dishes, laundry, and general cleaning including cat beds, cat climbers and floors.
- Helping to order, shop and pick up food and supplies. Ensuring that new supplies are put away and identifying when supplies are running low.
- Alert for behavioral changes that could indicate illness or injury.
NOTE: This position description is not all-inclusive. Other details will be discussed in the interview process.
There are lots of details and structure to our cat chores. We're seeking an individual with experience who understands the daily care and cleaning required for numerous cats living in the same location. "I have a cat" is not enough experience for this job.
Please note that this job is quite physical and requires stooping and bending. An ability to climb stairs and to lift and move 28 lb bags of litter is required.
PART-TIME afternoons - several days a week.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- No allergies to cats.
- Prior cat handling required. Rescue experience preferred.
- Affection for cats, and concern for their welfare.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately (and to ask if unsure of what to do).
- Strong communication skills. Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Possess a valid Driver’s License
- Reliable transportation to help with errands.
- MUST LIVE NEAR MT PLEASANT since this job is part-time with no time for extra commuting.
