Part-Time Veterinary Technician (Afternoon Shift)

About Us: Pmcod is a compassionate, client-centered veterinary practice dedicated to providing high-quality medical care for dogs and cats. We are looking for an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team and support our growing patient load during afternoon hours.
Position Overview: The Part-Time Veterinary Technician will assist veterinarians with medical procedures, go over and approve treatment estimates, preform patient treatments as directed by the veterinarian, provide exceptional patient care, and support daily clinic operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician seeking a steady, afternoon-based schedule.
Key Responsibilities: Assist veterinarians with exams, diagnostics, and treatments. Perform technical procedures (e.g., blood draws, IV catheter placement, radiographs, anesthesia monitoring, sedations). Provide nursing care and comfort to hospitalized or post-operative patients. Prepare exam rooms, maintain equipment, and ensure a clean, organized workspace. Communicate clearly with clients about patient care, discharge instructions, and treatment plans. Accurately maintain medical records and ensure proper medication handling for appointments and refill requests. Support the flow of the clinic during busy afternoon hours.
Qualifications: Required: At least 1–2 years of experience as a Veterinary Technician (CVT/LVT/RVT preferred but not required). Proficiency in standard vet tech procedures and patient handling. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to multitask and stay focused and composed during fast-paced periods, proactive. Passion for animal care and client service. Availability to work afternoon/evening shifts and occasional weekends if needed.
Schedule & Hours: Part-time, primarily afternoon shifts (e.g., 1 PM–6 PM or 2 PM–6 PM) Exact schedule flexible based on clinic needs.
