Pet Helpers is seeking a compassionate, energetic, and customer-focused team member to serve in a unique dual role combining Feline Animal Care and Front Desk Customer Service. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys caring for animals while also helping people find their perfect feline companion.
Every day is different. You'll spend part of your day caring for the cats in our shelter and another part welcoming visitors, processing adoptions, answering phones, and creating an exceptional experience for everyone who walks through our doors.
Schedule
- Full-Time
- Four 10-hour shifts per week
- One weekend day is required
What You'll Do
Animal Care
- Provide compassionate daily care for shelter cats.
- Clean and sanitize cat housing, litter boxes, feeding areas, and common spaces.
- Feed, medicate, and closely monitor cats for changes in health or behavior.
- Provide enrichment, socialization, and gentle handling to reduce stress and improve adoptability.
- Maintain accurate records in PetPoint and ensure animals are properly identified.
- Assist potential adopters in meeting and selecting the right feline companion.
- Work collaboratively with volunteers and fellow staff to provide exceptional animal care.
Front Desk & Customer Service
- Welcome guests and provide a friendly first impression.
- Answer phones and direct calls appropriately.
- Process adoption applications and complete adoption paperwork.
- Utilize PetPoint for animal records and adoption processing.
- Accept and organize in-kind donations.
- Maintain a clean, organized reception area.
- Assist with retail sales and encourage donations that support our lifesaving mission.
- Help maintain the Lost & Found program and Food Bank program.
- Complete end-of-day reporting and other administrative tasks.

Qualifications
- High school diploma required.
- Previous animal shelter, veterinary, or animal handling experience is a huge plus.
- Previous customer service experience is required.
- Experience using computer software and data entry systems is required.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working around cats of all ages, sizes, and temperaments.

Pay: Starting at $15.00 per hour, with compensation reviewed based on experience.
