Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dog Handler to join our very busy daycare. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal welfare, excellent animal handling skills, and the ability to work effectively with dogs of various temperaments. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the health and well-being of animals while providing exceptional customer service to pet owners. Prior experience in handling dogs within a kennel and play yard environment is highly valued. You will be handling dogs as large as 150 lbs. or as small as 3lbs. You will be indoor or outdoor, weather permitting. You will be required to clean up after dogs both inside and outside of their play areas including cleaning dog rooms, dog bowls and any basic need a dog may have. You will be required to maintain a safe and protected environment for the dogs.
Duties
- Safely handle and restrain dogs during examinations, treatments, and behavior
- Conduct dog training sessions and behavioral assessments as needed
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, treatment areas, and equipment to ensure a safe environment
- Engage in heavy lifting when necessary to move animals or supplies safely
- Offer excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about their pets’ needs
- Ability to be on your feet for a 5-hour time frame
- Ability to work weekends and/or Holidays (Non-Negotiable)
Qualifications
- Prior experience in dog handling or kennel work preferred
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and animal behavior
- Strong animal handling skills with the ability to restrain animals safely and humanely
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and stand for extended periods during shifts

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
