Responsibilities
- Provide attentive pet care including feeding, administering medication, and grooming as needed
- Engage pets with exercise routines such as dog walking and outdoor play to promote health and happiness
- Monitor animal behavior closely to ensure safety and comfort for all pets involved
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques during care activities
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding pet status, special needs, and any concerns that arise during visits
- Perform overnight in-home care visits to ensure pets are cared for around the clock
- Maintain detailed records of pet activities, health observations, and any incidents during shifts
Requirements
- Prior experience in pet sitting or animal care roles such as veterinary technician or assistant is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of dog training, animal behavior, and handling techniques
- Experience with veterinary procedures or veterinary experience is a plus
- Ability to handle various animals including dogs, cats, and horses with confidence and compassion
- Comfortable performing outdoor work in different weather conditions and lifting heavy items when necessary
- Excellent client communication skills to build trust and provide updates to pet owners
- Knowledge of pet grooming, kennel management, and pet exercise routines preferred
- Valid experience in animal restraint, pet care, and animal handling techniques necessary for safe interactions
- MUST BE 21 and older to apply, valid driver's license required
