Job Summary:
Perform routine and scheduled maintenance, order parts, and maintain the workshop. Performs general maintenance as directed, including lubrication, troubleshooting, and repair of Agricultural harvesting equipment, Forklifts, and Trucks.
Essential Functions
Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, precision instruments, and power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, lathes, welding equipment, and jacks and hoists.
Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other essential parts to ensure they are properly operating.
Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery. Adjust and reline brakes, align wheels, tighten bolts and screws, and reassemble equipment.
Test drive trucks to diagnose malfunctions or ensure they are working correctly.
Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers, motor analyzers, chassis charts, and pressure gauges.
Examine and adjust protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices.
Inspect and verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to factory specifications.
Ensure proper handling of service equipment and maintain a clean work area.
Follow safe work procedures, using safety equipment when required. Work safely at all times and report any unsafe conditions. Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times.
Follow GMPs and Company policies and procedures.
Maintain good attendance. Ability to work overtime, weekends, and during harvest periods.
Must meet all the requirements of a safety-sensitive position and pre employment five panel UA and periodic testing.
This is an onsite position and cannot be done remotely.
Experience Requirements:
Typically requires 5 years of automotive experience.Comprehend and follow general instructions. Learn to operate diagnostic systems. Possess basic mathematical skills, such as addition/subtraction/multiplication/division / averages / measures.
Read, write, speak, and understand English.
Possess a valid driver’s license and have a good driving record.
Must have a valid lift truck (forklift) certification card.
Must provide own tools and know how to use them properly.
Ability to read maps and know directions (N, S, E, W) Basic knowledge of lubricants.
Class A CDL preferred but not required. Medical card must be up to date.
Physical Requirements:
The incumbent is required to stand and walk around work sites, and it is felt that people could not meet the job responsibilities with severe restrictions to their mobility or use of hands or arms. Moreover, given the accent on the communication process, it is felt that it would take a lot of work to meet the job requirements with severe limitations in eyesight, hearing, or speech.
