Responsibilities
Receive inbound calls from members regarding healthcare needs
Assess needs and provide appropriate guidance while following established policies, procedures, and quality standards
Educate about medical conditions, diagnostic testing, treatment options, healthcare services, and benefits
Explain complex medical and insurance information clearly, accurately, and compassionately
Coordinate with members, physicians, healthcare providers, and insurance carriers to resolve issues and facilitate care
Advocate for members by identifying barriers to care and helping find timely solutions
Document member interactions and case activity accurately and promptly in the appropriate systems
Conduct follow up calls and manage cases through resolution when issues cannot be resolved during the initial interaction
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years experience in health advocacy
- Knowledge of health education principles
- Strong communication skills
- Experience with care coordination, case management, utilization management, or healthcare navigation preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to explain complex medical and benefit information in an easy to understand manner
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
