Position Overview
Perspective K9 is seeking a dependable Kennel Technician with experience working with dogs and in animal-handling environments. The Kennel Technician will report directly to the Owner and Head Trainer of Perspective K9 Training. This part-time role offers the opportunity for full-time hours potentially in the future.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily care of dogs (feeding, cleaning, medications, exercise)
- Safe handling of dogs of various sizes and temperaments
- Maintaining a clean and organized kennel facility
- Supporting trainers and staff as needed
- Take photos of client dogs for client updates and social media
- Communicating professionally with team members and clients
Qualifications
- Experience working with dogs or animals required
- Reliable, professional, and detail-oriented
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to adapt quickly to changes as the business expands
- Ability to work on-site and perform physically active duties
- Dependable transportation with ability to transport kennels/equipment/dogs as needed
- Drivers license with reliable transportation and ability to transport animals as needed (1-2 at a time)
- Minimum age of 18
Working Conditions
- May involve working evenings, weekends, overnights (stay at facility or client house) and holidays
- Indoor and outdoor environments
- Frequent interaction with animals
Schedule: Part-time with potential for full-time in the future
Compensation: Starting at $15/hour (based on experience)
