What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kennel Technician position at Greenside Canine Training?
Responsibilities:
- Provide daily care for animals in the kennel, including feeding, watering, and exercising
- Clean and maintain kennel areas to ensure a safe and sanitary environment for the animals
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals and report any concerns to the supervisor
- Administer medications or treatments as directed by trainer or supervisor
- Assist with grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and nail trimming
- Interact with clients and provide information about the animals in the kennel
Skills:
- Experience in animal handling and restraint techniques
- Knowledge of basic dog training principles and techniques
- Ability to lift heavy objects, such as bags of food or large dogs, up to 50 pounds
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with clients in a professional manner
- Familiarity with pet sitting and care routines
- Understanding of basic veterinary procedures and terminology is a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
Schedule:
- 6-8 PM Monday through Friday
- Weekend shifts available as well
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
