We are seeking a reliable and motivated Survey Helper to support our survey/field engineering team. This entry-level position provides hands-on experience in construction surveying, GPS/machine control setup, and field data collection. The role is ideal for candidates interested in developing a career in construction layout, surveying, or civil engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Field Engineer/Party Chief with daily survey and layout activities
• Help set up, maintain, and transport Topcon GPS rovers, robotic total stations, and related equipment
• Establish and maintain survey control points, stakes, and markers
• Carry survey rods, prisms, and other tools for layout and data collection
• Record field notes, measurements, and assist in maintaining accurate survey logs
• Support uploading/downloading data to survey and machine control systems
• Help troubleshoot equipment issues and ensure tools are clean, organized, and well- maintained
• Follow all company safety procedures and assist with site safety practices
• Perform general labor duties as needed to support the survey team and project operations
  
  

Ideal Candidate Profile

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Basic understanding of construction, surveying, or civil layout preferred (willing to train the right candidate)
• Ability to read and understand basic construction drawings is helpful
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and eagerness to learn new skills
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Physically able to carry equipment and work on active construction sites
• Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation
• Previous construction or survey field experience
• Familiarity with GPS, total stations, or other survey equipment
• Basic computer skills and willingness to learn data collection software
