We are currently seeking a Day Program Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide hands-on support and active engagement for individuals in our day habilitation program.

Position Overview

The Day Program DSP is responsible for actively supporting and engaging individuals throughout the day, ensuring all activities and programs are meaningful, individualized, and aligned with each person’s goals. This is a hands-on, highly interactive role that requires energy, attentiveness, and a commitment to helping individuals reach their highest potential.

What You’ll Do

• Provide supervision, training, and support to adults with developmental disabilities
• Follow each individual’s service plan and goals to promote independence and personal growth
• Plan and implement engaging, individualized activities based on personal interests and preferences
• Assist individuals in developing daily living skills such as hygiene, mobility, and personal care
• Transport individuals to and from the program, as well as to community outings and activities
• Maintain awareness of individuals’ whereabouts at all times to ensure safety
• Utilize approved behavior plans and intervention strategies
• Act as a positive role model for individuals and team members

Program & Daily Responsibilities

• Ensure programming is person-centered and meaningful for each individual
• Support participation in community-based activities, volunteering, and recreational outings
• Assist with medication administration and documentation in accordance with MAR guidelines
• Monitor health needs and communicate concerns to the nurse and supervisor
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized program environment
• Assist individuals with managing personal belongings and funds according to policy
• Participate in daily program cleaning and upkeep

Documentation & Compliance

• Complete daily documentation and service entries in THERAP
• Maintain accurate records including progress notes, incident reports, and activity logs
• Collect data on individual progress in accordance with agency policy
• Ensure compliance with all agency standards, including cooperation with inspections and investigations
• Follow all required procedures for safety, medical response, and emergency situations

Additional Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and program staff
• Participate in meetings, trainings, and sessions with Behavior Specialists
• Follow all policies regarding professionalism and appropriate workplace conduct
• Complete all assigned duties as directed by the Program Manager

Requirements

• Must pass criminal background check, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug screening
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Experience in human services is a plus
