What You'll Do
As the first point of contact for our patients, you set the tone for their entire visit. Your responsibilities include:
- Greeting every patient with a warm, professional welcome
- Answering phones promptly and courteously, scheduling appointments, and handling patient inquiries
- Checking patients in and out efficiently while ensuring all paperwork and insurance information is accurate
- Verifying vision and medical insurance eligibility (EyeMed, VSP, Spectera, medical plans)
- Collecting copays/deductibles, processing payments, and balancing the daily cash drawer
- Managing appointment reminders, confirmations, and recall outreach
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming front desk and reception area
- Coordinating with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow
- Handling patient records with confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
- Going above and beyond to ensure every patient leaves with a positive impression
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Minimum 1 year of front desk or receptionist experience in a optometry office
- Exceptional customer service skills — you genuinely enjoy helping people
- Professional phone etiquette and clear communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy (insurance verification, data entry, payments)
- Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure in a busy office
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable — we count on you to be there
- Comfortable with computers and learning new software
Strongly Preferred:
- Experience with Crystal PM or similar optometry/ophthalmology EHR systems
- Familiarity with vision insurance plans (EyeMed, VSP, Spectera)
- Previous experience in an eye care setting (optometry or ophthalmology)
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
Schedule & Location
- Full-time: Monday through Friday
- Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (may vary slightly)
- Location: 2600 Lakeside Parkway, Suite 180, Flower Mound, TX 75022
- This is an in-person position (not remote)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.50 - $19.00 per hour
