Role: Registered Respiratory Therapist II (RRT) responsible for providing safe, high-quality patient care across various settings, practicing with autonomy under respiratory and ventilator management protocols. They may perform procedures such as intubations and arterial line insertions depending on the facility.
Responsibilities: Act as a patient advocate by incorporating education into care plans, prioritize duties based on patient needs, administer and evaluate medication therapies, perform patient transfers, and deliver routine and advanced respiratory care including ABGs and bronchial hygiene. Demonstrate independence in respiratory care practices and manage critical care tasks such as ventilator management, airway management, blood gas interpretation, and emergency responses.
Qualifications & Skills: Requires an associate degree (bachelor's preferred), current licensure, BLS certification (ACLS and PALS preferred). Must have the ability to evaluate patient needs, perform various respiratory procedures, and operate with a high level of professionalism and independence.
