Registered Nurse – Medical / Gastroenterology

Role Overview: This registered nurse position involves providing specialized care on a 21-bed Gastroenterology/Medical unit, focusing on patients with complex GI disorders such as GI bleeding, liver failure, hepatobiliary issues, cancer, and inflammatory bowel disease. The nurse will deliver direct patient care, patient and family education, and coordinate transitions of care, emphasizing discharge planning and holistic nursing approaches.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate nursing care and support professional practice across care settings.
• Lead and participate in quality improvement activities and mentorship roles.
• Delegate tasks based on patient acuity, skill level, and resource availability.

Qualifications & Skills

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum one year of RN experience.
• Excellent communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and computer skills.
