Responsibilities
- Prepares treatment rooms and equipment based on prescriptions, including immobilization devices, and transfers patients to treatment areas with attention to their needs.
- Delivers prescribed radiation doses, explains procedures to patients, and maintains communication during treatment.
- Monitors patients for reactions or complications, reporting any concerns to supervisors and physicians.
- Maintains detailed records of treatments, patient charts, and reports to ensure accuracy and safety.
- Provides clinical supervision and evaluates students’ practical skills.
- Performs additional related duties as assigned.
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy (AART-T) and certified in Therapeutic Radiology Technology (RTT) are required.
- Preferred: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in radiological technology and experience in radiologic technology.
- Preferred certifications include CPR/BLS and fluoroscopy permit.
- Strong understanding of radiation safety, patient care, and record-keeping.
