Role: Part-Time Component Technician responsible for processing blood donations into transfusable components such as red cells, platelets, and plasma in a laboratory setting.
Key Responsibilities: Follow SOPs to process blood components, review manufacturing and quality control documentation, perform calibration and maintenance of equipment, troubleshoot issues affecting product quality, assist with validation of new processes, and manage data entry across multiple computer systems.
Qualifications & Skills: High school diploma required, associate's degree preferred. Strong attention to detail, excellent communication, multitasking ability, organization skills, and proficiency with computers, especially MS Office. Prior laboratory or manufacturing experience is advantageous.
Work Environment & Physical Demands: Repetitive motions, standing for long periods, handling refrigerated and frozen products, working in ambient noise areas, and lifting 26-50 lbs. Flexibility to work varying shifts, including occasional Saturdays and holidays, is expected.
