Role Overview
Manage the educational department within a long-term care facility to ensure compliance with standards, regulations, and guidelines.
Develop, implement, and evaluate education programs based on resident and staff needs, including mandatory in-services and ongoing training.
Coordinate and publish in-service schedules, conduct continuing education for nurses, and perform annual competency assessments.
Act as a liaison between nursing instructors and students, overseeing student and resident contact supervision.
Maintain a resource center with current geriatric literature and media, and ensure proper documentation of training attendance.
Prepare reports for regulatory agencies and supervise CNA classes and student instructors.
Qualifications
Current NM RN license and CPR certification.
Minimum of 1 year experience in nursing supervision or management in a long-term care setting.
Knowledge of geriatric and rehabilitative nursing care.
Professional attitude, self-motivation, and leadership skills.
