Responsibilities
- Collaborates and communicates with registered nurses
- Collects patient data and assists in care planning
- Supports implementation and evaluation of care plans
- Administers prescribed medications and IV therapy following regulations
- Provides patient and group education on health topics
- Participates in quality improvement and ongoing education activities
- Completes assigned goals effectively
- Minimum IV therapy training per state board requirements
- Experience in intravenous therapy preferred
- Educational requirements vary by state, including completion of accredited IV therapy courses
- Skills include computer literacy
- Licensure includes BLS certification within 14 days of hire, LPN license, and IV therapy certification as per state regulations
