This is a full-time, in-person position based out of our Brooklyn location.

Pay: $75,000 - $85,000 Annually

Job Summary: The Authorization Supervisor oversees the authorization process for home care services, ensuring all patient services are approved by insurance providers in a timely and accurate manner. This role manages authorization staff, ensures compliance with payer requirements, and supports seamless coordination between clinical, intake, and billing teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and support the authorization team, including scheduling, training, and performance management
• Oversee the submission, tracking, and approval of service authorizations with insurance companies (MLTCs, CHHAs, Private Pay)
• Contact applicable insurance companies through appropriate means such as fax, email and phone calls.
• Ensure all patient services are authorized prior to service delivery to avoid denials
• Review authorization requests for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with payer guidelines
• Monitor authorization status and follow up on pending or denied requests
• Resolve authorization issues, including denials and appeals
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payer policies, websites, portals, and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with intake, clinical, and billing departments to ensure continuity of care and reimbursement
• Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce delays
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in HHAX relating to authorizations
• Perform adhoc tasks upon request
  
  
  

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in healthcare authorizations, preferably in home care or home health
• 1–2 years of supervisory or team lead experience
• Strong knowledge of insurance verification and authorization processes
• Familiarity with Medicaid, and managed care plans
• Experience with HHAX systems and insurance portals
