- Have knowledge of insurance company websites and policies to obtain authorization.
- Contact applicable insurance companies, through internet or phone depending on requirements.
- Manage appropriate turn-around time in order to ensure timely authorizations are received by running and maintaining appropriate reports.
- Provide excellent customer service, care, and communication for our patients in an efficient manner.
- Run monthly eligibility, twice a month to ensure active coverage.
- Monitor and track patient authorizations through various reporting tools.
- Be able to work in a clear and positive manner with co-workers and insurance companies.
- Be able to perform other duties when requested.
- Work closely with clients and various departments across the company.
- Responsible for ensuring the appropriate documentation is received in order to obtain authorization.
- Maintain open lines of effective communication
- Ability to work in a fast pace environment.
- Must possess strong communication and organization skills.
- Working knowledge Microsoft word and excel.
- Exceptional Customer Service.
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
- Proficient computer, phone knowledge.
- Must be organized and have excellent attention to detail.
- Previous authorization experience preferred.
- Experience in HHA Exchange is a plus.
- Able to work well in a team setting as well as independently.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2 years working within a healthcare environment.
- Bilingual-Spanish preferred.
- This position operates in an office environment.
- Able to perceive and follow written instructions, verify documents and log in information accurately.
- Able to perceive, convey, relay and clearly exchange and communicate information verbally, over the phone, etc.
- Able to document information on software portal.
- Able to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. to be able to perform the above-listed responsibilities.
- Able to remain sedentary for prolong periods of time.
- Able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
