Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team in New Haven. This vital role involves providing personalized care and support to a male individual with a physical & developmental disability. The caregiver in this position will provide care in various settings such as the home, church, community outings and family home. Monday 7am-1pm
Thursday 4pm-10pm
Friday 7am-1pm
Saturday 7am-1pm
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in private homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly desirable.
- MUST drive, have a valid driver's license and have a reliable vehicle for all shifts
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional training in HIPAA compliance is preferred.
- Experience with assisting with ADLs, medication management, and vital signs monitoring is essential.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs as needed.
- Strong observational skills for monitoring and recognizing changes in condition promptly.
- Familiarity with care plans development and implementation tailored to individual needs.
- Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills to work effectively with people with disabilities or developmental challenges. Pay: $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 12.0 – 24.0 per week
