Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Autism Support Specialist to provide specialized assistance to an adult with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The pay is $22.00 per hour. Paid weekly. The open hours are from 330p-9pm Monday through Friday.
The ideal job candidate will possess a strong background in behavioral health, special education, and working with people with developmental disabilities. As an Autism Support Specialist, you will implement individualized care plans, utilize evidence-based behavioral therapies, and support clients in developing essential life skills. Your role is vital in fostering a positive, supportive environment that promotes growth, independence, and well-being for those served.
Duties
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as socialization, healthy eating and hygiene routines, to promote independence.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and update the individualized care plan
- Support teaching activities that enhance communication, social skills, and behavioral management.
- Provide patient care by monitoring health status and responding appropriately to any needs in a compassionate manner.
- Foster a positive environment by implementing behavior management strategies that promote appropriate behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors.
