Role Overview
As a Government Account Manager, you will own and grow relationships with federal, state, and local government agencies. You will be responsible for driving revenue growth through new business development, contract expansion, and strategic account management. This role requires deep familiarity with government procurement, RFP processes, and compliance-driven technology sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute account plans for targeted government agencies.
- Manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting to closing multi-year contracts.
- Build strong relationships with procurement officers, IT directors, and investigative teams.
- Navigate and influence public sector Procurement processes.
- Partner with channel resellers, system integrators, and consulting firms to expand reach.
- Collaborate with marketing and product teams to align solutions with agency needs.
- Accurately forecast pipeline and revenue; achieve quarterly and annual sales targets.
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience selling software or technology solutions to government agencies.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding quota in public sector sales.
- Strong understanding of government procurement vehicles (GSA, NASPO, state/local contracts).
- Background in fraud, compliance, or investigative software preferred.
- Existing network of public sector decision-makers highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to travel as needed for client meetings, conferences, and demos.
