What are the responsibilities and job description for the Radiologic Technologist position at Pershing General Hospital?
ROLE OVERVIEW
Performs examinations on patients as prescribed by the physician to provide quality-imaging studies, regarding patient condition for diagnostic purposes. Reviews studies for clarity and accuracy and may take additional films to assist the Radiologist.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· Education/Experience: Completion of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology or Ultrasound. Six Months experience in X-ray and CT or US. 24 hours of continuing education every 2 years.
· Technical Skills: To be able to perform examinations in X-ray and Computerized Tomography or Ultrasound.
· Other qualifications/certificate/license: ARRT or eligible within six (6) months of hire or equivalent education; basic CPR Certification within three (3) months of hire; on the job training. Covers call and works holidays and shifts as required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. 3. Performs diagnostic exams independently to physician’s orders in using correct modalities to assure accurate and optimal diagnostic results.
4. Retrieves and returns patient to appropriate area and prepares room for next study in timely fashion with a friendly customer service attitude.
5 Records appropriate patient information and maintains all records according to established guidelines. Performs regular quality control checks and required paperwork as necessary to comply with regulatory standards.
6. Maintains a safe environment for patient and staff, to include the ALARA Concept as prescribed by PGH, NAC and applicable standards of care.
7. Demonstrates a basic understanding of Quality Improvement/Quality Assurance in the organization.
8. Demonstrates knowledge of radiation safety procedures, exposure factors, and restraint methods to ensure quality of patient care.
In addition to the responsibilities described above, the role may include other responsibilities and duties as assigned on occasion, based upon Pershing General Hospital and Nursing Home’s needs or requirements.
