Evening Custodian

Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team as a full-time Evening Custodian at RW Combs Elementary. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning and maintenance tasks in classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors to ensure cleanliness and safety.
• Dust and wipe down surfaces, including furniture, windowsills, and fixtures.
• Empty trash receptacles and ensure proper disposal of waste materials.
• Restock supplies in restrooms and common areas as needed.
• Assist with setup and breakdown of school events, including moving furniture and equipment.
• Conduct routine inspections of the building to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards.
• Report any repairs or maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel.
• Follow established safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
• Collaborate with other custodial staff and school personnel to ensure a smooth operation.
• Adhere to all school policies and procedures regarding cleanliness and safety.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous custodial or janitorial experience is a plus, but not required.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean environment.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
• Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Availability to work evening shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
• Knowledge of cleaning products, chemicals, and equipment is desirable.
• Must pass a background check as required by school district policies.
