Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to nursing staff and assist in delivering high-quality care to patients, particularly in senior care settings. This role is crucial in ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients, including those with specific needs such as geriatrics and dementia care.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.
- Provide basic medical care such as changing bandages and assisting with medication administration.
- Support patients with mobility needs, ensuring safe transfers and ambulation.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members regarding patient status and needs.
- Document patient care accurately in accordance with facility policies.
- Assist in the preparation of medical equipment for procedures or examinations.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to medical-surgical care and anatomy knowledge.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in senior care or geriatrics is preferred; experience with children is a plus.
- Familiarity with dementia care practices is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of vital signs monitoring techniques and medication administration protocols.
- Ability to perform basic medical tasks while maintaining a high level of patient confidentiality.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to empathize with patients and their families.
- Must be able to work effectively as part of a team while also demonstrating initiative when needed.
- Certification as a Nursing Assistant or completion of an accredited nursing assistant program is required.
- Ability to pass background checks as mandated by healthcare regulations.
