Key Responsibilities
Transportation Operations & Fleet Management
- Oversee daily routing, scheduling, and dispatch of Class A drivers and third-party carriers.
- Direct yard flow, trailer staging, and freezer logistics for inbound and outbound efficiency.
- Ensure timely, accurate delivery of customer orders across all sales channels.
- Arrange warehouse logistics, catalog goods, plan routes, and process shipments.
Safety & Regulatory Compliance
- Lead efforts to achieve zero injuries and maintain <0.5% incident rate.
- Maintain documentation and certifications for DOT, FDA, HACCP, OSHA, EPA, GMP, Organic, and SQF.
Team Leadership
- Supervise, coach, and develop Class A drivers, transportation coordinators, and yard staff.
- Build a culture of safety, service, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct performance reviews, training, and cross-functional alignment meetings.
Freight & Carrier Management
- Source and negotiate competitive freight rates for all lanes and sales channels.
- Partner with Customer Service and internal departments to ensure delivery timelines are met at optimal cost.
- Evaluate third-party carriers and maintain service agreements.

Financial & KPI Management

Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred (Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business).
- 3 years in transportation, logistics, or supply chain operations.
- 2 years in a supervisory/leadership role.
- Experience in food/beverage or cold-chain logistics preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership, coaching, and communication abilities.
- ERP/WMS knowledge required (NetSuite and RFSmart preferred).
- Strong organizational, analytical, and multitasking skills.
- Working knowledge of logistics systems, end-to-end supply chain, and freight management.
- Forklift/pallet jack certification required; bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.

- Ability to walk the production floor for extended periods.
