Job Summary
The UX Designer will be responsible for designing intuitive, user-centered experiences for our financial products, including web and mobile applications in areas such as banking, payments, investing, lending, or alternative finance platforms. This role focuses on understanding user needs, mapping complex financial workflows, and creating seamless, accessible, and trustworthy experiences that drive engagement and conversion. Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), the UX Designer will collaborate closely with UI designers, product managers, researchers, developers, and stakeholders to ensure designs align with business goals, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices in financial services.
Key Responsibilities
● Design end-to-end user experiences for trading interfaces, including order entry, real-time market data feeds, charting tools, trade execution flows, and risk alerts, ensuring fast, reliable, and error-resistant interactions for active traders.
● Collaborate with UI designers to ensure visual design supports strong usability and builds trust in sensitive financial contexts.
● Work closely with engineering teams during implementation to ensure designs are feasible and executed with fidelity.
● Conduct user research (interviews, surveys, usability testing) to understand the needs, behaviors, and pain points of users interacting with financial products.
● Create user journeys, personas, user flows, information architecture, wireframes, and interactive prototypes to solve complex financial workflows (e.g., onboarding, transactions, portfolio management, KYC).
● Define and document interaction patterns, ensuring consistency across platforms while adhering to accessibility standards (WCAG) and financial regulations (e.g., clear disclosures, error prevention).
● Validate designs through usability testing, A/B testing, and analytics review, iterating based on qualitative and quantitative feedback.
● Perform competitive audits of leading financial and fintech apps to identify opportunities for differentiation and innovation.
● Advocate for user-centered design within the organization and contribute to the evolution of the design system.
● Stay current on UX trends in fintech, including emerging patterns in mobile banking, wealth management, and alternative finance.
Qualifications and Requirements
● Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Design, Psychology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
● 4 years of professional UX design experience, with a strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end UX process (research, ideation, prototyping, testing).
● Proficiency in UX tools such as Figma (preferred), Sketch, Axure, Miro, or similar for wireframing, prototyping, and collaboration.
● Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, information architecture, interaction design, and usability heuristics.
● Experience conducting user research and usability testing, with the ability to synthesize findings into actionable insights.
● Strong communication and storytelling skills to present design rationale and research findings to cross-functional stakeholders.
● Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and iterate rapidly based on feedback.
Preferred Skills
● 2 years of direct experience designing UX for financial products, fintech applications, banking platforms, trading tools, or alternative finance solutions (e.g., crypto, DeFi, lending apps).
● Deep familiarity with financial user needs, such as secure authentication flows, regulatory-compliant onboarding, risk communication, and data privacy considerations.
● Experience designing data-rich experiences, including dashboards, financial statements, and performance tracking.
● Knowledge of accessibility in regulated financial contexts and mobile-first/global design considerations.
● Background working in regulated industries or with public companies, ensuring designs support compliance, trust, and scalability.
