What are the responsibilities and job description for the Museum Store Associate position at Permian Basin Petroleum Museum?
Summary:
As a Museum Store Associate, you play a key role in the Museum’s success by welcoming visitors, creating a positive guest experience, collaborating hands-on with your team, and achieving store sale/operational goals.
Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to):
- Label and stock/re-stock inventory
- Regular upkeep of the store, front desk, and lobby
- Assist in answering the phone and direct callers
- Greet and check in visitors and offer information about the products to customers
- Operate POS system: open/close/balance cash register, transact sales in cash, credit, and checks
- Assist with processing/shipping orders
- Understand and promote the Museum’s mission, goals and objectives
Skills and Abilities Required:
- Part time (20-25 hours per week)
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of computer software, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and varying Google apps
- Work well with others, as well as work independently
- Customer service oriented and welcoming
- Organized and efficient in time management
- Follow specific procedures as taught by manager
- Maintain professional appearance and attire
- Working weekdays and weekends required
Working Conditions and Physical Effort Required:
- Work may involve hours outside of standard business hours
- Work is a combination of an office environment and retail environment
- Physical effort is required on a regular basis, including but not limited to: climbing a ladder/stepladder, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending and kneeling
