Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cashier/yard hand to join our team in a dynamic retail environment. Duties
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process customer transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Operating a forklift (if previously experienced in doing so)
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with inquiries, product selection, and ensuring a positive shopping experience.
- Handle cash transactions and maintain accurate cash handling procedures.
- Perform merchandising tasks, including stocking shelves, arranging displays, and ensuring product availability.
- Conduct product demonstrations to educate customers about new or featured items.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area and sales floor.
- Supervise junior staff when necessary, providing guidance and support in daily operations.
Skills
- Proficiency in using POS systems for efficient transaction processing.
- Previous supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership capabilities.
- Strong phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries via phone effectively.
- Knowledge of merchandising principles to create appealing displays.
- Familiarity with stocking procedures to ensure product availability on shelves.
- Background in retail sales with an understanding of customer needs and preferences.
- Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and retail math calculations.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
