What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ammonia Refrigeration Supervisor position at Peri & Sons Farms?

Position Summary: This position This position is responsible for keeping building, refrigeration and property equipment in a proper state of repair, functionality, and compliance. Successful completion of assigned tasks will reduce mechanical downtime, maintain product flow and any production lines running at maximum while staying compliant with all applicable regulations. Some of the job functions include:
- Maintain and troubleshoot ammonia refrigeration systems
- Repair and service mechanical, electrical, and material handling equipment
- Lead maintenance tasks in the absence of the Supervisor
- Perform preventive maintenance to reduce downtime
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
- Respond to emergency repairs (rotating on-call schedule)
- Maintain accurate maintenance records
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 5 years’ maintenance experience in Cooling or Agriculture industry
- RETA, CIRO and CARO certification preferred
- Background in regulatory compliance
- Experience maintaining and repairing refrigeration & cooling systems
- Strong electrical/mechanical skills including PLC operation and troubleshooting
- Good communication skills, Good attention to detail
- Valid driver’s license and clear driving record for insurability
Physical Demands and Work Environment: This position works in both an office setting and outdoors in agricultural fields. Office work involves routine computer tasks in a climate-controlled environment. Field work may include exposure to varying weather, uneven terrain, dust, and nearby farm equipment. The role requires the ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands, and occasionally lift up to 50lbs. Some flexibility in schedule, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends, may be needed based on operational needs.
