Position Summary
The Director of Technology Services manages all technology functions at The Music Center. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role develops and carries out a technology strategy. The strategy supports the organization’s mission, operational excellence, digital transformation, and risk management.
The Director manages a high-performing technology team and ensures secure, reliable IT operations. The Director oversees budgets and vendor relationships. The Director partners with executive leadership and departments to deliver scalable, cost-effective technology solutions. This role strikes a balance between long-term strategic planning and daily operational effectiveness. The Director serves as a trusted advisor on technology opportunities, risks, and performance.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a multi-year technology strategy and roadmap aligned with organizational goals and priorities.
- Oversee the delivery of secure, reliable, and scalable technology services, including infrastructure, applications, networks, outdoor video screens, telecommunications and end-user environments.
- Manage cybersecurity governance, policies, and incident response planning; ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and industry standards, including PCI DSS.
- Direct the planning and execution of technology initiatives, including system implementations, integrations, cloud initiatives, and upgrades.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a customer-focused technology team; oversee staffing, performance management, training, and succession planning.
- Develop and manage Technology Services operating and capital budgets; oversee procurement, vendor performance, and contract management.
- Partner with executive leadership and departments to understand business needs, communicate technology risks and opportunities, and deliver effective solutions.
Required Skills
- Minimum of ten years of progressive information technology experience, including senior leadership or management roles.
- Proven experience developing and executing enterprise-wide technology strategies and roadmaps.
- Demonstrated success leading technical teams and managing complex IT operations.
- Experience managing budgets, vendors, and large-scale technology initiatives.
Desired Skills
- Experience working in a nonprofit, performing arts, or complex multi-stakeholder organization.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, risk management, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Experience with cloud services and enterprise systems such as ERP, CRM, ticketing, and fundraising platforms, including system integrations.
- Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) and project management methodologies.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, ITSM, Security , or CCNA preferred.
Salary
This full-time, exempt position offers a competitive annual salary range of $175,000-$200,000 along with a comprehensive total rewards package. Schedule
This position is scheduled for 35 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday from approximately 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Work hours may be adjusted as necessary to accommodate special events and business needs, including occasional evenings and weekends. The Music Center currently operates under a hybrid work model, combining remote work with designated onsite team days. Onsite, in-person attendance is required to support live events. This work arrangement is subject to change based on business needs and the responsibilities of the position.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, or related fields.
- Professional certification, such as ITSM, PMP, CompTIA Network /Security , CCNA/CCNP, or similar credentials, are preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of increasing responsibility in IT within leadership and management roles.
- Proven track record of leading technical teams and building high-performing, customer-focused groups.
- Demonstrated success in creating long-term technology strategies, roadmaps, and resource plans.
- Comprehensive understanding of enterprise infrastructure, networking, cloud services, and cybersecurity. Knowledge includes PBX and application ecosystems such as ERP, CRM, Ticketing, Fundraising, and Security Development applications.
